Origami is one of the oldest forms of arts. Ori meaning “folding”, and kami meaning “paper” (ref: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Origami). We might remember Origami as something we had practiced as a kid with boats, airplanes and many objects. Origami is of vast use for the stoodents in varied aspects.
Origami is used in engineering projects to demonstrate a model and how it works. It is widely used in schools and laboratories for display of objects which cannot be ported inside the lab or made live to the stoodents.
I have used it widely for myself during my formative years to impress my friends and my relatives. Now I use it as a medium to teach my nephews and nieces about different objects. Here’s a link that will demonstrate how it can be used for Science purposes : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ICa4UqvFC8 .
We have used it effectively for demonstrating a hydro-electricity project by just using Origami. You can visualize a lot of things by means of Origami. It can be used to supplement your imagination.
