Friends, we can learn so many things from extracurricular activities like communication skills, general knowledge, interview skills, and personality development and so on. I want to share my experience with you through this blog. I have been taking part in various activities from the start of my engineering education.
Extracurricular activities are a good way to explore social, political, and career interests. And help to increase gain experience in a variety of areas that will enhance our future. Through participation in sports, students learn co-operation, team work and time management. By serving as an officer in an organization, students learn responsibilities, problem solving and communication. Extracurricular activities can also help to discover our hidden talents, meet people they might otherwise not encounter, and learn about things outside our own environment.
I saw some hostel students go to home at the time of cultural activities, some technical, non-technical, social events. Because may be they don’t want to attend it. They thought, it is wastage of time. But I want to suggest them only study is not important in our whole life and for career also. We need to develop our extra talent, practical knowledge, communication skills. Therefore everybody should involve (participate at least in one activity) in all the activities like cultural activities, event management, group discussion, various clubs, committees and so on. At the time of these events, we meet our seniors, so many outside people and that time we are discussing with them about different events. We can learn so many new things, new ideas from them and also can learn about how to handle critical, problematic situations. All these things like group discussion, participation in various committees, clubs, and events increase our communication skills,  Interview skills, self-confidence, and extra knowledge (outside of our regular study). And we tend to do with great fun and joy. (www.youtube.com/watch?v=aowkbGAbP0k 93k)
Taking the time to get involved in extracurricular activities will benefit students in a variety of ways. Time away from the day through participation in extracurricular activities can also serve as an outlet for stress and a way to build confidence and self-esteem. We need encouragement to pursue our dreams. Not only will it empower us to make our own decision, we will also be given a chance to gain our vital experience and skills that we will lead on the path to our future.
